THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2015 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.
I'm a stranger in a strange land - I could use a guide. In 2011 my PSA was 4.2, DRE was slightly abnormal. A biopsy revealed high grade PIN. 4 months later a repeat biopsy came back negative with a PSA of 4. A year ago I went to see another urologist who examined me and said all was stable and unremarkable. I assumed he had a more recent PSA from my routine physical. On this year's physical my PSA had jumped to 5.5, which triggered another biopsy, and this time I wasn't so lucky. Gleason score 7 (3+4), 2/12 cores were positive for cancer, <50%. No perineural, lymphovascular, or extra prostatic invasion. Of course all that can change when prostate is removed and fully analyzed. Tumor involved 3mm of 30mm total core length for two positive cores and the report stated that tumor represented 2% of the submitted tissue. The cancer seems to dwell at the right base of my prostate. My appointment with the doctor is in two weeks. Any advice regarding questions to ask would be greatly appreciated.
