TREATMENT EXPERIENCES

When this site was set up, there was a belief that there was tremendous value in reading the experience of other men with prostate cancer. There was also recognition that it might be helpful to find someone to 'talk' to; someone who had dealt with the same issues and problems facing men diagnosed with the disease. Most of the contributors who have told their stories have left their e-mail addresses.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE CONTRIBUTORS' STORIES

You will see when you go to the contributors' stories that there are the following flags:

BRONZE Men diagnosed less than five years ago have a bronze bar.

SILVER Men whose diagnosis was between five and nine years ago have a silver bar with a star for each year beyond five up to nine.

GOLD Men diagnosed between ten and fourteen years ago have a gold bar with a star for each year beyond ten up to fourteen.

PLATINUM The long term men - survivors of 15 years and more have a platinum bar.

This tag shows the men who will help answer your questions.

If you would like to add your story to those who have shared their experiences, please go to JOIN US, if you are a returning visitor and you would like to update your story, please go to UPDATE YOUR STORY.

A similar version of the YANA Experiences site has been developed in Switzerland. The Swiss site is called myProstate. All information on the site is available in two languages at present and contributions can be translated into four languages. There are many excellent features such as summaries of side effects of various therapies and drugs, graphs that plot PSA (and other) results, and many others. For some preliminary help in understanding the terms and maximising the value, please go to USING THE the myProstate SITE.
