Dave C and Linda live in Nebraska, USA. He was 48 when he was diagnosed in August, 2009. His initial PSA was 8.00 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 9, and he was staged Unknown. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is ADT-Androgen Deprivation (Hormone) (Monotherapy). Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2015 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

I was diagnosed in 2009, at the age of 48, with a Gleason Grading of 9. I had the robotic radical prostatectomy, and my surgical margins were all good.

I lost sexual function, but otherwise things went well. It took about 2 months to get complete control of my continence.

In 2011, my PSA started going up again, so we decided I should do the radiation treatments. I had a Lupron shot, waited a month, then did 40 treatments of radiation (and had 2 more Lupron, a month apart).

I have had some problems with bleeding in the colon since radiation.

The last couple of times I visited the Urologist, the PSA started climbing. It quadrupled in back-to-back three month periods (so up by a factor of 9). So we decided to start the Lupron shots. I am not very happy about this, but I have not yet seen bad side effects (3 weeks is all, though).

Am I supposed to put other things here? I am pretty worried about my future, and how much of it there will be.
