John Haden and Nancy live in Texas, USA. He was 57 when he was diagnosed in January, 2000. His initial PSA was 17.40 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was ?, and he was staged T2b. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Retropubic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is ADT-Androgen Deprivation (Hormone) (Other). Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2016 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

My name is Nancy Haden, I am concerned about my husband. He was diagnosed 10 years ago. Now the cancer is back. He has a rising PSA. September 14th 2010, last month Johns PSA rose to 5.6. Today October 4th it is 5.3 It should be undetectable since he has no prostate, right? Anyway we are so scared, we don't know what to do next, any information are feed back will be greatly appreciated. We knew this day was coming, we have been fighting this for ten years.

He has had Zoladex shots on and off through the years he is taking Bicalutamide 50mg with the Zoladex shot. We will find out if this is working together next week.

UPDATED

March 2013

Still on Zoladex, have and will be for the rest of John's life. He has taken Zoladex for eleven years, off and on. He is now taking Zytiga 250 mg. along with hydrocortisone and blood pressure medicine. John is fine, but not active. He no longer does yard work or anything else for that matter. We do go on trips alot. Sorry I have not updated. I am not computer smart, John just got me this IPAD. I am going to classes on how to use this thing next week. I will try and up date you more. I do enjoy reading other mens' updates. That's how I got John taking Zytiga.

UPDATED

April 2014

John has been fighting prostate cancer for thirteen years, currently he is taking Xtandi (enzalutamide capsules 40mg). He stopped taking Zitaga last month because he thought it was making him feel tired. But not true, he doesn't feel any better. Last MRI showed a small mass on his liver, doctor called yesterday and said she might do a biopsy. Still gets a Zoladex shot every three months. Hope this is helpful, any feed back will be appreciated. Nancy Haden

UPDATED

July 2015

John is tired all the time. but still manages to go to the grand kids soccer and baseball and swimming events. Zitiaga and Xtandi damaged his liver. Had to remove some of his liver. That was August last year. Have not taken any thing sense then, trying to let his liver fully recover. His PSA is slowly rising.

Currently PSA is 9.99 almost 10
