Gary Neale and Cecy live in Mexico. He was 53 when he was diagnosed in April, 2009. His initial PSA was 12.89 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 8, and he was staged T1c. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2016 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

I went for a general check-up and in passing asked for the prostate to be checked. That was January and three months later I was diagnosed with PCa.

The advice from all quarters was surgery and I eventually capitulated and underwent prostate removal using the Da Vinci robot on June 2nd 2009.

My first PSA test since then shows 0.01 (max 13.11 before surgery) Still not been able to achieve full erection but slowly getting stronger.

UPDATED

February 2011

I had surgery in June 2009 and PSA in every test since shows 0.01.

The only problem I have is a continued lack of a decent erection. It seems that a vacuum pump works best, I have tried Caverject and it seems to work only 1 in 3, maybe I am doing it wrong. Pills with the pump work best.

UPDATED

May 2012

Since surgery my PSA is nd....have acheived a full erection very rarely using vacuum pump and/or pills. Have tried Caverject and it seems to work 1 in 3 times, maybe I inject it wrong or something, but apart from this issue no problems and feel that I made the right choice in elected for surgery rather than watch and wait.

UPDATED

August 2013

4 years after my surgery and PSA not detectable. Looking good Houston!!!

UPDATED

June 2015

I have continued to go for check ups and so far I am cancer free. Last PSA test June 2015 - n/d
