THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2015 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.
After the initial shock of being told I had between three months and three years to live because the prostate cancer spread to my spine with a 3cm tumor and multiple small tumors in my lungs, I went to MD Anderson Orlando and they took an aggressive approach with Eligard (hormone therapy) and radiation on my spine.
In July of 2010 I told my doctor that I was going to stop hormone treatment because of sweating so badly and no energy and zero sex drive. He told me stage 4 cannot do on and off hormone therapy. I told him too bad - quality of life is more important to me.
My PSA stayed at 0.01 until May of 2011 and only went to 0.05 and my testosterone went from zero to 241. On May 29th 2011 I had a pet scan and MRI and my body is tumor free my doctor told me this is something to celebrate and he doesn't want me start back on hormone therapy unless my PSA rises to 4-6.
Please stay positive and awesome things can happen if you belive it will.
Still kicking.
