David Murphy and Molly live in Florida, USA. He was 52 when he was diagnosed in June, 2006. His initial PSA was 5.60 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6, and he was staged T2b. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy). Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2015 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

Surgery was performed September 17, 2006 by Dr. Mani Menon at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Current PSA is < .03, ED until about one year post surgery, when I regained sufficient firmness to penetrate, with the help of Viagra.

Continence is good. Occasional stress leak, but that's not a problem.

I consider myself one of the lucky ones.

UPDATED

April 2012

I get yearly PSA tests.

UPDATED

August 2014

My PSA has remained below .1, so I have not needed additional treatment. No side effects that are a problem. No regrets as to the procedure I selected.
