John Hooper lives in Australia. He was 57 when he was diagnosed in March, 2005. His initial PSA was 7.60 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 7a, and he was staged T1a. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2018 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

In 2009 I had salvage radiation when my PSA rose to 4. In 2012 I visited a different Urologist to have a Sling inserted to help with incontinence. The first thing he asked me was what did my pathology say after the surgery. I said I was told one wasn't taken. He said bull shit. He had a copy within 3 minutes I then found out that 6mm had been missed. I wasn't happy. But I have since been told my the original urologist that after I have a course of hormone treatment should live a normal life which I take it he means the average life for an Australian to 82. I hope I do.

I am to see a Radiation Oncologist and the 2nd urologist alternatively every 6 months with a new PSA each time.

One thing that seems to be working is the daily taking of: 1. Turmeric with pepper made up by my wife called Golden Milk, 2. a glass of Pomegranate juice, 3. Broccoli (steamed) and 4. Green Tea. These together are keeping my PSA doubling to 18 months. My Radiation Oncologist is very happy and wants a copy of the Golden Milk recipe.

My first Urologist wanted me to start the hormone treatment in 2015 before my PSA was 1. My second Urologist and Radiation Oncologist are saying start Hormone treatment when your PSA gets to 8.

I have decided to put my trust in them what else can I do. Put they are highly regarded by the Support group.

I would welcome any comment please.

John
