Jerry Donnelly and Maria live in New Jersey, USA. He was 80 when he was diagnosed in October, 2013. His initial PSA was 6.90 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was Unknown, and he was staged T3a. His initial treatment choice was ADT-Androgen Deprivation (Hormone) (Other) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2016 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

I was diagnosed in October 2013 a PSA; at 6.9 and in November 2013 I was given a 6-months dosag of a female hormone. Shortly afterwards, I left for the Bahamas where I met a number of men who had been diagnosed and they started taking sour sop tea, a bush medicine, which I started as well. In June 2014 I was tested again and the reading was 0.09. At that time I discontinued the sour sop tea and began 45 treatments of radiation over 9 weeks. One month after the radiation treatment in sept of 2014 I was tested again and the PSA; was 1.07. I returned to the Bahamas and began the sour sop regimen again. I returned for a follow up visit the doctor in may 2015 and the PSA; dropped to 0.35 and I have continued on the sour sop tea at my own decision. I am scheduled to return for another exam in late September 2015. My doctor understandably is not familiar with sour sop and I suggested he go to the internet where there are numerous comments pro and con on its merits. My main concern is whether the sour sop is merely screening the problem or am I actually receiving a benefit from continuing the regimen. Would appreciate any info or feedback from the group. "Thanks". Jerry Donnelly
