Tom Breneman lives in Arizona, USA. He was 66 when he was diagnosed in October, 2014. His initial PSA was 12.70 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 7a, and he was staged T2c. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2016 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

Denial at first, anger at Doctor, resignation that something had to be done. We researched all remedys and in talking with old family Dr. we decided to have the Da Vinci surgery at MD Anderson. It is not easy but has ended as well as could be. Dr Mashni is a wonderful surgeon and did wonders for me.

Very lucky as there was no incontinence after removal of the catheter, erections are returning, but not great yet, 6 weeks after surgery. The whole thing is very hard to go through. It is very hard on the man, but is worse for the wife. I guess I am glad I have no cancer now and I may return to a semi normal life.

I feel it is important for those looking at the surgery to see that there are folks that have had a fairly good experience. It ain't the best but it beats the alternative. At first I felt like driving out into the desert and swallowing my 44 magnum, I did not and it has gotten better so far. Cancer is a bitch!!
