Eric None lives in Washington, USA. He was 55 when he was diagnosed in June, 2010. His initial PSA was 15.00 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 7, and he was staged T2c. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2016 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

Hello, I was diagnosed at 55, regular doc DRE led to PSA test result of 15. Researched alternative anything, meditated, underwent biopsy about 4 mos later, 11 of 14 cores mainly 3's with a couple 4's. Ultrasound notes mentioned "probable extracapsular extension" . I was accepted in Provenge pre-op trial and then had RP about eight months after initial news. PSA shot up to 30 after provenge. After surgery PSA; .02. Very difficult recovery. Incontinence made working (construction) hard, finally had successful sling surgery recently. Happy (if that is right word) with that result. Sex. I was just out of a relationship when diagnosed, and it was three years before I was intimate. Fortunately, I did meet a very understanding woman, and have shared passion and been able to satisfy her. Two viagra or cialis work at times, I also use the bi-mix, it is what it is- gets hard, some pain and discomfort. Recurance. Yes. Hit .2 at 2 1/2 years. Was at .5 at 3 1/2 years. Just did 8 mos Lupron now .03. My big decision now is whether to proceed with expert recomended salvage radiation (and quite possibly lose what function I have, and perhaps also the new relationship I very much want and value). The only real feeling I have had of happiness post surgery. The odds are only 50/50 of a salvage cure, and I already feel like a man whose headache was "cured" with a shotgun blast. Feel like not taking another big hit to quality (essense) of life, but do not take lightly what I may be dealing with instead five or ? years down the line. "Prostate cancer is clear as mud" said one doc. No two cases the same, thats my story so far. Not looking for advice. Appreciate thoughtful posts on this site.
