Melvin D and Margarete live in Germany. He was 55 when he was diagnosed in July, 2014. His initial PSA was 15.90 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 9, and he was staged T2b. His initial treatment choice was Undecided and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2015 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

Went in to check B/P workup and asked for a PSA due to the last one being 2010 which was 2.48=normal. All results were normal except the one that really mattered the most, PSA was 15.6. Sent to Uroglist and did a DRE and was suspect for Prostate Cancer. Went and got a biopsy and results were 1 lesion in left lobe taking up more than half. Gleason score was 9. My dad had prostatre cancer when he was 65 and he was treated with radio thearpy. He is now 82 and fine. So now shopping around for a treatment option. With a high PSA and Gleason according to the partin tables the cancer is no loner capsule confined. I will comment on the biospy. It was done using a special MRI with 2 diffrent contrasting agents and it identified suspect lesion in both lobes. The biopsy was performed using this MRI along with a Sonagram template that guided the urogliist to the tumors. Results were cancer in only left node 60%, 20% and 5% in prostate zones. 4 out of 10 cores positve. Been 2 weeks since biopsy and my ejaculation is mostly bloody. I have a bone, Ct and chest x-ray on 19 Aug and if all is well the Urogolist wants to do Surgery to remove all 23 lymph nodes, semivessels and Prostate along with the erectile nerves on the left side. He will do frozen section biopsy of right nerve during surgery and if negative will leave it there. He wants to use the open procedure with the cut in the abdomen below the naval. Check with a uroglist who is also a Oncoligist on 18 Aug and will ask him for possible for a hormone shot or pills to stop further spread till I get the decided treatment. And also checking with another surgeon who performs Da Vinci prostate removals. More to follow.
