THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2017 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.
I'm a newbie to this site. 5% of (1) biopsy showed cancer, (12) were taken. My urologist/surgeon is recommending Di Vinci prostatectomy. A lot of questions, my one question is how do I find out if my surgeon is qualified, how many successful prostatectomies he has done. A lot of other questions but this is a few for now.
Right now I am a year post robotic nerve sparing surgery. About three blood test in between all show 0 PSA. I consider myself very lucky to have found my cancer early, doing the yearly physicals. Right now I don't have the PSA numbers in front of me but I remember one out of the twelve biopsies had the cancer. I'm physically doing ok, incontinence is still a issue but getting better. My faith and my support system helped me get through this whole ordeal. Let me know if I can help with any info. Thanks.
Had robotic surgery to remove the prostate 4/2014. I've had the same PSA level ever since. Still some incontinence, it has slowly gotten better. Nerve sparing procedure was successful. Rehab and intimacy is challenging, and believe it will get better.
