Mariano B lives in New York, USA. He was 56 when he was diagnosed in June, 2013. His initial PSA was 6.90 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 6, and he was staged Unknown. His initial treatment choice was Surgery and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2015 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

I was diagnosed with stage 1 prostate cancer after months of having problems pissing. A lot of stop and flow issues and pushing from the belly. Having a bowel movement at times was an issue. I was going 3 to 4 times just to complete one bowel movement. I have concerns regarding incontinence and ED. I also don't look forward to wearing male diapers. I spoke to someone who had surgery and he related his story to me. He was really honest and touched on some of the concerns I had. I am currently waiting til the 23rd when I have appt at Mt Sinai hospital. I also contacted Winthrop University Hospital to find out about a procedure called "CyberKnife".

UPDATED

November 2013

I had my surgery mid Sept and it went well. I endured a week of painful bowl movements but came up cancer free at the end. Dealing with some bouts of depression but all is well. Seems crazy but I had sexual relations three weeks after. Not the norm but it happened.

Mariano's e-mail address is: m.bermudez360 AT gmail.com (replace "AT" with "@")

NOTE: Mariano has not updated his story for more than 15 months, so you may not receive any response from him.
