Thomas Tra and Jenny live in Ontario, Canada. He was 41 when he was diagnosed in November, 2012. His initial PSA was 6.30 ng/ml, his Gleason Score was 7, and he was staged T1c. His initial treatment choice was Surgery (Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy) and his current treatment choice is None. Here is his story.

THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO AN UPDATE REMINDER IN 2016 SO THERE IS NO UPDATE.

Hi My name is Thomas Tra and I am 41 years old, I found out that my PSA level is 6ng/ml when I just went for the regular check up and mention that I want to do PSA test my father got PC 7 years ago. After debated with the doctor he agree to let me have the test and there it is. I got something in my blood. But the doctor didn't seem very excited about that and told me that I should wait and have another the test in the next couple of weeks, then 3 weeks later I got the other test and it is the same number. Then I started to ask him to send me to some urologist but I waited and waited until I can't wait anymore after 2 months, so I went to the other GP and asked her to help me to refer me to the urologist so finally I could see the U after 3 and a half months. He asked me the other blood test after 3,5 months then it shows 6.3 for my PSA. So he wanted to do biopsy right away and it was 7 out of 13 sample got cancer Gleason score 7 (4+3) Stage T1C.

So from some friend I know that there are a new type of surgery in canada call Robotic Laparoscopic Protatectomy and I think I like to do that way so I asked my urologist to give me that type of surgery but unfortunately his hospital doesn't have that machine so I have to look for another the urologist. Lucky enough I know one good friend I also got the same PC like my so he introducted me to doctor Singal in East York hospital and he took me almost a next day. So he gave a week to think about that and then take my wife to see him too, he wanted both of us know what is going on and have a good prepare for that. So that I am scheduled to have operation on Dec 21. Go home next day and on catheter for almost 3 weeks due to the holidays and vacation of the year and my U as well.

Well, I will update later what is next to me.

June 2014

It has been a while I didn't updating my story. My PSA is still remain un detectable. Well, it was a mess last year or me.After the surgery, then the radiation and hormone treatment together. it was bad but. I am glad that I got over that. The problem now is the ED and incontinence. I still have to wear the little pad since it still dropping sometime. And the cialis doesn't seem work that well, it is not hard enough for intercourse. But doctor said I am lucky it is still up a bit (50%). Guys who have all the treaments like me usually went dead for that. I don't know it is good or bad but it isn't go anywhere.
